Monday, July 30, 2001. Today we put the drainage pipe. It was easy and exciting. However, when we started pouring rocks around it, we realized that gravel sank beneath the pipes and lifted them - the gravel that was being poured had too much momentum. Soon we learned that first we had to dump the gravel on the area where the drainage pipe was already securely in place. Then use our feet to move the gravel to the area where we needed it. This worked well and soon we were on our way.

We couldn't quite finish covering it up in one day, so we had to cover the remaining part with a tarp. Those black plastic pipes are very strong, but one thing they can't stand is direct sun. |
