Monday, Sept. 3, 2001. It's been raining so hard, we have not been able to work on our land. Today was one of the few mornings without rain, but thanks to the humidity the mosquitos are really bad.
However we made good progress on the second layer of rocks and we mortared the remaining bottom layer and some of the second layer with "poor man's cement."
We also met a new neighbor, who wants to the improve drainage problems on both our properties by putting down perforated pipes in the middle of our land. We have a dry creek in the middle of our property that runs into our pond, but he wants to improve it so that water from both our properties will drain into the pond. We agreed that this was a good idea, as poorly drained land is a great place for mosquitos!
