Tuesday, December 18, 2001. Much more cobbing. We're all about done reparing the rain damage all around. Today Ari was scraping some clay from the bottom of his pit, but there were a couple of batches of cob where the mix wasn't good at all - the cob was breaking up and was not holding its shape. We suspect that we were actually digging through the pile of clay into the top soil of the earth beneath, and that's why the cob wasn't good. We're quickly using our supply of clay that we dug out of foundation. We'll be OK still for a while, but before we're through we'll definitely have to dig somewhere else to get more clay.
