Friday, December 28, 2001. Pretty intense cobbing day. We used a bigger tarp to mix a bigger batch of cob each time. It took longer to mix each batch so we wondered if it really affected our productivity that much. But we found that we did prefer mixing bigger batches, because then we could spend longer time putting it on the wall, which is our favorite part!
At the end of the day some of the northern wall had reached 2.5 feet above the floor level, where we planned to run electric wires in the wall. So we made a groove in the wall by sticking some loose 2x12s. We also stuck a few 1x12s on the wall to stand on later when the walls get too high to cob from the ground.
