Monday, January 21, 2002. We were hoping to take advantage of 3-day weekend but were forced to take a couple of days off because both of us came down with the "cedar fever" that's been going around. We have a number of cedars on our land as well, just small ones popping up in the wet area. Hmmmm.... We'll need to cut them down as soon as we move in!
Our cobbing continues on the southeastern corner, where the kitchen is going to be. The place looks like a mad maze with lots of wooden pieces sticking in and out of the wall. We're not entirely settled on how we're going to support and attach the counters to the wall, so it remains to be seen if our planning will pan out or simply get in the way. We're almost ready to put in the fourth window frame!
The southeastern corner looks like a mess, but we do have plans and ideas of what we're doing. The wood pieces are there in preparation for counter tops, electric conduits and water pipes. But obviously it's hard to tell what is what now.
The look of the southeastern corner from the southeast. As you can see it is quite a round corner there, it will be quite a challenge to put in a counter top that goes along the wall inside. The strawbales are there so that we can stand on them. The walls are getting too high there for us to stand on the ground and cob.
Another picture of the southeast/front end, but Terri wanted to capture the interesting and beautiful cloud pattern. We have an access to the big sky in the country, something we miss in cities.
