Monday, February 11, 2002. Today was a half day (Terri has to work in the afternoon) but our friend Laurie came and helped us. We're working on the last remaining "in-between the windows" space on the north. This is an interesting space because about 2/3 of it covers the dining/sitting area, while the other part covers this walk way to the restroom. So we decided to split up the shelves into similar proportions. The dining side will have more decorative items, while the other will have more functional stuff, like a phone and phonebooks.
We had a surprise visit from one of our neighbors, who are actually planning to build a straw bale house on a different piece of land nearby! We had a great conversation between two sets of Do-It-Yourself house builder-wannabes. Once again, we're so amazed by what a nice neighborhood we found ourselves in. Couldn't have hoped for a better one!

Laurie and Terri working away on the northern wall. We only built about half of it today, so we'll finish it the next time. |
