Thursday, May 31st, 2001. More furious digging. Ari had unexpected days off (and Terri already had this week off) so we were in for a four-day weekend. Today we had the pleasure of experiencing a rain storm while on the land. We just waited until the rain stopped in our truck to check to see if our foundation trench was serving its purpose. And it was!

It looks like a major valley, doesn't it? It's just our foundation trench. On average we dug about 2.5 feet from the ground. |

Here you can see the trenches. The trench does get narrower toward the bottom. We're going to put a perforated pipe for the collected water to flow through. |
